Attachment control not recognized when using Pega test Automation Kit
Hello!
I am looking into Pega Test Automation Kit for UI based testing. But I have problem in using this for attachment control. I have read and viewed the release notes, documentation and even video for this control, I can see this was introduced in Automation kit 1.2. But it doesn’t seem to work.
We are on Pega 8.6 and the application uses UI Kit and using OOTB attachment control. Haven’t customized it and that uses pzMultiFilePath control as per the documentation. Based on the notes and video when running/recording the test case number of steps created is also same as in the link above.
Looked into few rules related to this “CanCaptureAttachmentkeys” seems to be the one that might be responsible. Even this when rule returns true.
Will this work only on PegaSocial-Document class ? Normal attachment control or pxAttachContent doesn’t work ?
I am looking for more information on this. Does this functionality works on Test Automation Kit 1.6 ? Was there any changes made ? Would be good to get some information.
Has anyone used and found this to be working ?
I am looking into other test automation tools, but would like to know bit more about this issue.

We are also facing the same issue as you have described above. I wonder have you got more insight into this issue from the Pega Support Community or did you find any custom solution to this issue?

Could you advise what could be the possible root cause for OOTB pzMultiFilePath control not working during scenario test execution? Do we need to Edit the Test Case Rule to add extra manual configuration after creating the Test Case for this control to work?
In the video available at https://docs-previous.pega.com/devops/87/attachment-support-scenario-testing? it doesn't show the steps to bring the popup window to browse the file system and select the desired file. Could you explain how it works in the background during test case execution and are there any prerequisites for it to work?

If I understand the workings of the Pega Test Automation Kit for attachment processing correctly, it's storing the Attachment meta data of all the attachments added during the Test Case creation in .pyAttachments Page List property which is linked to the 'Click' action associated with 'pzModalButton'.
During Test Case run, while processing the step associated with 'pzModalButton', it invokes the '@baseclass.SetAttachmentKeysFromClient' activity rule to link the existing 'Data-WorkAttach-File' instances with the current case context.
With current configuration options available in Functional Test Case rules, is there a way to call an Activity or DT as part of Test Case Step configuration, the way we can call them as part of Setup and Cleanup?
