access when rule question
I have a parent case and child case. the requirement says the user for child case can not access parent case. but there is Calculation in parent case to sum of value that is keyed in by child case.
if I block the access to parent, the calculation is blocked too. is there any access when can resolve this?

The parent case could always query information about its child cases could it not?

Hi,
Yes this is certainly one alternative to use Case Aggregate Feature to sum the values from Child Cases. But how do one actually prevent Child case from Accessing Parent Case details ? This is because when Child case is opened then pyWorkCover (Parent) is opened by default. The child can use breadcrumb or links (in pyCaseManagerPortal) to open the parent and thereby access the parent case detail. How is it possible to prevent by defining an Access When Rule ?

The Practice Build in the 7.1 LSA course has a requirement similar to your requirement.
A Warranty Claim Processor (WCP) is not allowed to create or update Claim cases. A WCP is only allowed to work on Product Warranty cases.
A CSR, is only allowed to work on Claim cases. A CSR is not allowed to update Product Warranty cases.
The hand-off from CSR to WCP occurs via a workbasket assignment. The access role on the workbasket assignment only allows WCPs access post assignment creation.
The CSR still needs to be able to update a Product Warranty case during spinoff. An Assign-Worklist R-A-R-O was added to the CSR role where AssignedToMe - not pxAssignedToMe - was used for "Modify".
There is no requirement stating that a CSR should not be able to read/open/review a Product Warranty case -- only that a CSR cannot modify a Product Warranty case.
