Custom Sort in D_Workbasket
I have a requirement to add some custom sort logic on the workbasket result set that is displayed on the To Do landing page. Please advise if it is okay to customize the D_Workbasket data page and add the custom logic in the data transform?
The data transform would first call the pzGetWorkBasket and then do the custom sorting. Please note I cannot do the sort on the Report definition.
I am building this in Constellation.

You shouldn’t directly modify the D_Workbasket data page since it's an out-of-the-box rule. Instead, create your own data page, like D_CustomWorkbasket, and use a data transform to call the pzGetWorkBasket activity to get the results. After that, apply your custom sort logic within the same data transform. Since sorting in the report definition isn’t an option for you, doing it this way gives you full control without affecting the platform rules. This approach works fine in Constellation too, as long as you keep the logic clean and avoid using deprecated methods. Just make sure the final sorted list is set properly on the data page so the UI can display it correctly.

@Sairohith Thank you for the response. I am using the OOTB ToDo widget with work queue option enabled. Could you please advise in that case, where should I change and update to use the new custom D page instead of D_Workbasket. I could not find the code where the D_workbasket is currently referred.

Since you're using the OOTB ToDo widget with the Work Queue option enabled, the widget is hardwired to use D_Workbasket internally. There’s no direct configuration setting available in App Studio or the Constellation UI to replace that with your custom data page like D_CustomWorkbasket.
Here’s the thing: that widget uses a combination of View rules and Component templates behind the scenes. To override the source, you’d need to:

Clone the ToDo widget or build a new widget that mimics it.

In your custom widget, use a custom View where you control the data source.

Point that View to your
D_CustomWorkbasketinstead ofD_Workbasket.
There’s no way to just "plug in" a different data page in the existing OOTB widget without customizing the component. So unless Pega exposes a parameter to override the source (which currently it doesn’t), you’ll have to rebuild the widget logic to take control of the data page being used. Let me know if you want help outlining the steps for creating that custom widget in Constellation.
