Pega Robotics R25 New Features - Volume 1
With the release of Pega Robotics R25 being official last Friday, I want to make a quick post about some of my favorite new features. These are not ordered in a specific way, but feel free to ask me in the comments, and I may pick a favorite.
The first new feature I want to highlight with R25 is the new Help-->About window (accessible from the Help menu in Pega Robot Studio). This window not only shows you the build version of Studio as prior versions did, but it now includes much more comprehensive system information. In addition, it includes a link to the Windows System Information window to get even more details if required.
This is an excellent way to view all of the Robotics software versions in a single place in addition to other information that would be helpful for troubleshooting. An example of where this would be helpful would be if I were running Windows 11 Build 25H2 (this is a fictional although possibly future version of Windows 11). Since I can also see the Pega Native Foundation version, I can easily tell if the two are compatible (given that the version of Pega Native Foundation indicates the latest Windows 11 build that it supports).
This information is also copy-able, which makes it much easier to share (and then edit or redact) when needed.
I am really excited to get comprehensive version and system information in one place easily accessible.
To add a cherry to the top, the Toolbox (under the "Runtime" section) now contains methods for getting the various software versions as well as for Edge and Chrome. This would allow you to write these to your RuntimeLogs or use them in your automations if needed.
