Pega testing and support for 19.1 runtimes on Win 11
I’m looking to clarify what Pega’s position is with regards to the 19.1 series of runtimes on Win11.
1: Has Pega tested the 19.1.70, 19.1.102 and 19.1.132 runtimes on Win11?
2: Does Pega support 19.1.70, 19.1.102 and 19.1.132 runtimes on Win11?
3: Will the existing runtime packages that NBS created on Win10 also work when deployed to Win11 devices or do the packages need to be recreated on Win11 before deployment to win11 devices?

@RichardB3397 Windows 11 was initially supported in Pega Robotics 19.1.108. For the list of versions you provided, this leaves only 19.1.132 where Windows 11 is supported. Incidentally,
- No, Pega Robotics has been tested with Windows 11 in versions starting with 19.1.108.
- No. From your list only 19.1.132 would be supported on Windows 11.
- There would be no package changes assuming the package was deployed with the same version of Studio as Runtime is using. In this case, if you deployed your package using 19.1.132 and were using it with Runtime 19.1.132, then you wouldn't need to do anything to your packages. If your package was deployed with an earlier version, you would need to open it in 19.1.132 and then redeploy it. No other changes would need to be made.
Incidentally, Pega Native Foundation is a separate product from Pega Robot Studio/Runtime and is designed to be updated independently of Studio/Runtime. If you are performing a fresh install of 19.1.132, then you should consider using the latest Pega Native Foundation. You can get this installer from the latest Studio/Runtime by downloading that from the website and extracting the corresponding installer files.

Thanks for the prompt response
I have one follow up question regarding the runtime package itself
We gave the runtime source file to our packaging team with installation instructions. We threfore have a packaged runtime application which can deployed to NBS devices. This process was completed on a win10 device. The question is do we need to replicate the runtime packaging process on a win11 device or will the existing win10 created package work on win11 devices

@RichardB3397 I cannot speak on your package (i.e. the thing you've created for your installation), but if you are referring to the Pega Robotics Deployment Package (i.e. the files created when you click deploy; MyPackage.OpenSpan and MyPackage.manifest), then as long as those were created with the version of Studio that matches your Runtime version, and that version supports Windows 11, then no changes will be required to the deployment package.

Thanks Thomas - it is certainly helpful to understand the compatability of deployed robot package files - .open and .manifest. However, I was actually refering to the 19.1.132 PegaRobotRuntimeSetup.exe - this is the exe that we passed to our packing team with installation instructions; it is this package which is deployed to laptop/desktop devices which installs the runtime files in local installation directory. The packaging process was completed in a win10 environment - the question is will we need to repackage the exe in a win11 environment or will the existing win10 packaged exe still work when deployed to a win11 device Thank you
