Set Global Variables via Pega Robot Manager
Hi,
We have a list of parameters (SMTP server, Web URLs, API endpoints) that are commonly used by our robots. Currently, these parameters are configured locally per machine and users update it manually if there are changes.
Is there a way to setup these variables on the Pega Robot Manager, so that we can just update it on the Pega Robot Manager and the value will automatically update for all the robots?
Appreciate your inputs and ideas on this.

@MayAnnTenorio Here is what I would do.
- In Dev Studio in your Pega Robot Manager application, create a data table (this will be associated with a DataPage when it is created).
- Insert the records into the table (your settings you want to store).
- Expose a REST service that Runtime can call.
- The REST service will call an activity that you create to map the data table to the data page (response page).
- The response page would get converted to JSON that would be returned by the REST call back to Runtime.
- Runtime would then parse the JSON to get whatever settings it needs.
- You should be able to update this data table in production.
If these are environment settings that don't change with each deployment, you can use the project configurations in 19.1 or "Environment Overrides" as they are called in 22.1. These aren't stored on the platform but allow you to run your package with whichever settings you specify.

Thank you for this feedback. We will be contacting Pega Support to try your recommendations.
We also noticed that RuntimeConfig.xml can be saved from Robot Manager to the machines. Would it be possible to add our custom parameters to this file?

@MayAnnTenorio I would not suggest that. The RuntimeConfig.xml should only contain the information that it ships with to avoid any chance of errors.
