About heap memory
I have three questions.
1.
Do the PEGA Platform and Workflow each use heap memory?
2.
To monitor the heap memory, in the Tomcat startup parameters I think jmx settings are necessary, but do you specify them?
3.
Also, in order to monitor the heap memory with zabbix, on the zabbix side specially I think that monitoring settings are necessary, but have you designed and set them?

Hi @NOROT16712643: PEGA will be deployed in a application server like Jboss / Tomcat which needs heap to be configured. Please check installation guide for appropriate configuration of heap.
For the other questions on monitoring, it depends on your organisation. Every organisation will have its own model for monitoring. So you can follow the same.

1. Yes, Heap Memory will be utilized by Pega Platform with middlecomponents like Websphere, Tomcat and JBOSS etc... But it's not like ONLY Work flows will be using it.
2. I have no Idea about the JMX settings but, If you have PDC configured, there's an option to monitor the Heap Utilization. You need to contact your application Account Administrator to get the PDC access.
3. Since Pega Home grown solution PDC is available, You will not need any other Tools to monitor Heap Utilizations. Apart from Heap utilizations, You'll need Splunk / Grafana Dashboards tools for DB Performance Monitoring needs. Apart from that, for Application needs, PDC is sufficient.

2 - yes this is possible. Enable jmx remote, full documentation is available here
Here is an example of the settings used for an internal tomcat service (if you aren' t using a protected internal network then you should use authentication and ssl)
-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false
