Post pega upgrade to Pega 8.4, file listeners is taking more than 1 hour to process the files
Post pega upgrade to 8.4.0, the file listener that runs for 16 mins earlier started running for more than 90 minutes and causing time out issue which makes the remaining 7 file listeners to fail in the batch. I see the below alert:
Database operation took more than the threshold of 100 ms: 2.702 ms SQL: select 1 from XYZ.pr_sys_app_hierarchy_flat where pzTopAppHash = ? and pzAppHash = ?*”
and much more similar pr_sys_app_hierarchy_flat alert.

Hello,
When I faced issue with this table -pr_sys_app_hierarchy_flat- it was usually because there was a DB lock which would explain that it's not progressing.
You can also consider doing a truncate of this table.

A select statement on pr_sys_app_hierarchy_flat should not take that long - You need to review fragmentation / statistics on that particular table at database table, to ensure the table is healthy.
Please make sure PurgeAssemblyDatabaseCach is also running without any issues (as it is in charge of purging pr_sys_app_hierarchy_flat when needed) and that you are on the latest patch release of 8.4.

Only consider some extra database tuning after reviewing fragmentation on that table and that PurgeAssemblyDatabaseCache is correctly running.
