Pega Foundation for Communications Upgrade from 7.2.2 to 8.2
We are upgrading a 7.2.2 environment with Pega Customer Service for Comms to a 8.2 Pega version. We need to upgrade the foundation for communications application. The upgrade guide for the foundation framework indicates that to upgrade to 8.2 we need 8.1 installed, 8.1 upgrade guide indicates we need 7.4 and so on. Is that correct, or we can go straight from a 7.21 Comms Foundation to a 8.2 version.

Based on "Pega Foundation for Communications 8.2 Upgrade Guide", you need to upgrade Pega Platform to 8.2, upgrade Pega Foundation for Communications to 8.1.
It's suggested to follow the upgrade guide. So, if you are currently on Pega Foundation for Communication 7.21, then you need to upgrade step by step: 7.21 -> 7.31 -> 7.4 -> 8.1

We took the risky approach and went ahead and upgraded directly to the 8.2 version. We verified that the schema changes introduced in each of the version were in the 8.2 upgrade package as well. There was no need to make a sequential upgrade since 7.31 up to 8.2
