Considerations on which edition of SQL Server to use with Pega
The platform support guide doesn't have any guidance on which edition of SQL Server is recommended, presumably because both are supported. We have both versions available and are wondering if there are any consideration from a Pega perspective as to which version to use? Scalability and performance on the biggest factor I see but even then the system would need to be pretty large.

From a Pega GCS perspective - there have been a few issues with moving between versions. But, you're asking about specific Pega aspects that would favor one versus the other. There is not likely to be any. All of the critical points would pertain to your infrastucture.
That said, I would explore 2016/2017 with HA (Availability Groups) and keep your database close to your application server. They don't need to be on the same IP but strongly recommend the same subnet.

Interesting, thanks for that information. One of our thoughts was potentially starting with Standard and moving to Enterprise should the application required it in the future. I've seen some anecdotal evidence that going from Enterprise to Standard can have issues. Are there any known issue with Pega going from Standard to Enterprise? Either from an infrastructure or application design perspective?
