Pega Robotics SMTP with TLS
Hi All
Is it possible to use the the SMTP connecter to send email with TLS? I am able to use it to email with attachments using a mail server that does not require TLS/SSL but so far I am unable to get it to work with TLS/SSL. Specifically I am trying to use Googles SMTP server on port 587. Thanks in advance for any advice

Thanks. I read through these articles but they seem to be more oriented to the main Pega platform rather than Pega Robotics (ie openspan) or maybe Im misunderstanding.

I do not yet have something I am ready to share, but the way I am implementing this is to create a custom DLL which I can then call from an automation. I have it working in an automation(at least it works fine with gmail), but it needs further testing and cleanup before I would want to post it.

I think in pega robotic studio, there is no way to enable SSL. so there is no way to connect to smtp.gmail.com using secure port and it throws up a error. So, we have no option but to use a script to achieve this. This is a major draw back.

The SMTP component was updated in release Proprietary information hidden which was released on July 15, 2019. This release supports SSL and TLS. You will need to upgrade to the 19.1 release to take advantage of this enhancement.
