How To Write Custom Control to Keep Consecutive spaces for input

I want to keep consecutive spaces for input for a UI design purpose.

I found this solution but don't know how to write such a control on Pega 7.1.9 Enterprise edition.

Thanks for reaching out, the link you provided is for 7.3 and on 7.1.9 it seems to be different. and that post didn't tell how to Create a custom control with <pre> tags enclosed. 

Anyone can help?

Hi,

If you are using a property in the input field then, you can use that property in the paragraph rule and also can include the property in <pre> tag.

<pre><pega:reference name=".PropertyName" mode="literal"/></pre>
