If you just need to launch Excel and not control it you can use the Process component.

Use the process component from the toolbox. You will need the 'Start' Method, the 'StartInfo' property, the proxy (right click on blue dot > extract proxy) from 'StartInfo' property, and the 'FileName' and 'Arguments' properties from the proxy. 

I recommend creating a procedure to accept the file path/name and reuse it for you various files.

1. I want the folder thats containing the excel files to open first and check if any excel files are present. Then I need to proceed for further process. How can I do it?

2. I also have multiple excel files to check for. So should we use the stringutility.concat for each and every excel file or is there any other option to do it automatically? 

First get all files as a list using GetFilesinDirectory (fileUtils component in toolbox) method and loop the list as per your requirement.
