Can Pega apps react to a server event?
Hello,
New to Pega and trying to figure out what is possible. Is it possible to have a Pega app react to a server event? For instance, if the user is sitting at their desktop using a Pega app, can the server send a message to the Pega app in front of the user to display a message or do something else like prompt to navigate screens?
If so, can you point me towards what I need to research?

Hi Eric,
Basically what ever is been shown to end user, its generated from server side and sent to end user, like if you want achieve something like on click of button or change of something if you want to show some message this can be achieved using the events/actions configured on the control, but if you want acheive this irrespective of any thing then you can have script running in back ground which will execute after every T interval and get the messages from there but this may impact to end user as it will make network call at background after every certain interval.

Thanks Naresh, so it sounds like the only way to achieve this is with client side polling. I was hoping that Pega would take advantage of Javascript WebSockets or some other mechanism to make this happen but I guess not.
