DBA Rights for PEGA Service Account

Do the service account for the PEGA database access with DBA rights (SELECT_CATALOG / GRANT ANY) require to run the product?

The manual stated the rights are required. Can the product function with a service account without those rights?

Yes. 

You do create a schema and you are required to point this schema with respective username and password while installing the Rule Base Setup. 

This Schema with this associated user needs to have these Privileges as per the installation document, else the setup would FAIL.

It's recommended to follow the manual AS IS.
