How Work Pool is used as a reporting structure in Pega

does in anyway WorkPool effects the Reporting Structure in pega?

As far as I know we reference the Work Pool in Access Group and it restricts user to create only cases that belongs to pointed work pool in AG. All related work items are stored in one relational data base table. I'm not sure how this is used as reporting structure.
