How to convert a Pagelist to text file? Each page record should appear in a separate line in text file
Hi All,
I have a requirement where I need to copy the Pagelist results into a text file. Each page result should appear in a separate line and the properties should be separated by pipe(||) delimiter.
For e.g if my pagelist has 2 records (lets say country, country_code and currency are the properties) then the text file should have both the records in the text file as below. Each property value is separated by || and each record is in separate row.
country || country_code || currency
country || country_code || currency

Storing the pagelist component in text might cause some performance issue as it requires you to iterate thru the list then storing them in some temp property and then use concept like Connect File to write the property value to a file.

A better alternative could be converting them to CSV. Refer below :

Hi,
Here's a thing which might help, and yeah I'm not quite sure about the performance.
Have an activity to loop over the pages in the page list and then for each page, use something like "getPageAsString" OOTBfunction to convert the page to string. Append each pageAsString to a ' temp string' which you can later move to a text file.

Create a copy of activity @baseclass.pxConvertResultsToCSV and replace the seperator locale lookup to use pipes instead.
This generates the csv from a page list and then pushes the file to the browser for download.
