Project Agents stopping in SMA after restart of Tomcat

Hi,

We have noticed that every time we restart Tomcat, certain enabled agents in SMA which are project specific get stopped on their own. Is there a way we can make sure the agents remain in the same state as they were before restart? Does this require a change at the platform end or the client end?

Please advise.

No Pawan. We had a doubt that this is some config change that needs to be done by the project teams and not by the platform engineers. Please correct me if i am wrong? The advanced agents and listeners go down.

Also, what can be the reasons of this behavior?

Hello Rashi,

SMA works with extension capability of JMX  .

SMA communicates PRPC with JMX mbeans .

So once your restarting the server that means SMA lost communication with Mbeans .

There are some agents like SystemCleaner, SystemPulse, SystemIndexer etc will keep running even after restart because system needs for some mandatory functionality .

If you have created custom agent/listener you need to start it manually after server restart  there are no other ways to do it .

You can say it’s the feature of JMX .

Hi Everyone,

Could you please tell me as to how do I have the same settings as SystemPulse, SystemCleaner etc. for user specific agents configured?

This information is needed as we are seeing the same issue in production environment.
