We are doing an update from Pega 7.2 ML0 to Pega 7.2.2. I recommended the Golden Copy Lift and Shift approach based on some high level documentation. We noticed in the following in the Pega 7.2.2 Update Guide:

Note: Pegasystems strongly recommends that you use the migration script. The use of vendor tools

to manage this step is not recommended. If you do not use the migrate script to migrate the schema,

there are additional manual steps required that are not documented here.

My question is how to move the Rules schema from one environment to another (Lift and Shift) when the from and to environments are on different databases on different servers? The above comment indicates that an Oracle export/import is not feasible without the additional manual steps. What are these steps?

Or would you recommend we do an out of place upgrade for each environment separately? It will take more time but is manageable.
