Getting Error while installing pega personal edition

Hi,

While trying to install Pega 7 Personal Editing getting the below Error. Please help

Error : Unable to connect to database

Hi Sai,

Please perform the following and let the me know the result.

1) Clear the temp cache of your laptop %Temp%

2) Clear your browser cache.

3) Click on 'PRPC 7.2.2 startup' and wait for approx 2 or 3 min

4) Click on 'PRPC 7.2.2 Login'

It should load your PRPC now.

HI Othos,

How can i get the username,pwd, and SID. I have checked some folders in the Pega files but i couldn't find the information. I have attached the log file. Please check

Hi Sai,

I have reviewed you log and it seems to be an OS issue.

which is reported and confirmed in the below links.

Please try the following:

1)  If antivirus is running on that machine, disable it and try.

2) Try installing in different machine.

Hi Buddy,

Thanks for your response.

I already tried by uninstalling Anti virus, then it got installed and opened first time, but it was very slow. Then i again logged off and tried to open but its not opening ,i can see pega short cuts in my desktop also. It showing unable to connect to server.Please suggest (Attached screen print)

Note: After deleting antivirus and tried to install it has taken so much time to complete the installation rather than usual time of course finally installed but again not working

Hi Sai,

Installation was completed properly right? Do you have the log just to recheck all went through fine? 

Also, Whether you have tried installing it in different in OS version?

Yes. I can see build successful message in log(Attached the log file). At present i dont have another system or os, i will do it later but here i am trying to debug the issue. In some other posts some body posted it might be because of some dll files missing, but that too  i have installed.

Hi Sai,

Thanks for sharing the log. This seems more of OS issue. Can please provide the OS details, PostGres version and the version postgres jar(jdbc jar) you are using to connect.

Also, could you make sure the DB user is having all required privileges on DB and all the Postgres services are up and running.

Hi Sai,

Please check whether Username is having all the privileges or not. Have you check Test Connection button when you have configured DB details during installation process.

Privilege mismatch will play a major role when it is unable to connect to database.
