SOAP Integration

Hello Guys,

I was trying to work with SOAP but little confused with few of the concepts.

1. What is the difference between "Error Handler Page" in Service Tab and Faults Tab?

2. What is Compensating Action and why do we actually need in a connector?

Feel free to share more information related to integration (connectors and services) if you feel worth knowing.

Basically when you call a SOAP service using Connect-SOAP OOB method , the errors returned by that method are recorded in the error handler page

However SOAP faults if any like Communication/resource errors eg: incorrect request/message formats , issues with processing SOAP headers etc.can be captured using the Faults tab.

I have not used compensating actions a lot , but my understanding is,  after calling a connector if you decide to rollback the changes applied to that  WO as part of the connector response , this feature allows you to do that use a Compensating activity basically revert back to old state of WO.

Hey Prasad,

OOB you meant out of the box methods (connect methods in data pages and activities)?

I read the pdn document on compensating actions but it was really confusing to me as I have no practical idea!
