Connect SOAP Response timeout.

Hi,

I would like to know if we increase the "Response timeout" period of Connect SOAP from the default setup of 2 minutes to 15 minutes will lead to any performance issue ?

One of our interface team requested to increase the timeout period from 2 to15 minutes to acknowledge our request(return HTTP 200),

since they could not handle the volume which we send they are trying to Queue our requests and then they will acknowledge one by one so it takes maximum of 15 minutes.

Increasing timeout is not the solution. You should consider use RunParallel option of the Connect-SOAP (https://community.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v719/procomhelpmain.htm). Too many threads waiting for response is likely going to cause slowness/memory issues...

In ideal terms, functioning of this service suits to be an asynchronous service. If service provider can modify this service to an asynchronous service, PRPC Connect-SOAP can be configured for the same with which we can avoid waiting on service response.
