What is teh proper way of migrating all data instances from Pega 6.2 to newly installed Pega 7
We has application in production running on Pega 6.2 sp2. We plan to upgrade to install a new Pega 7.1.7 instance in production environment, then migrate all data instance from Pega 6.2 to Pega 7 directly. Question: Does Pega fully support this kind data migration? What is the detail documented steps for this?

We can perform phased application migration upgrade, in case of upgrading multiple applications sharing same codebase. But below are the items to be taken care.
1. Two different environments to be maintained even in production, that is one with older version of PRPC and other with latest version of Pega, till all the applications are migrated. This may not be cost effective.
2. For each application migration downtime is required.
3. Manually we need to export and import data from shared, work and history related tables.
4. Thorough functional testing is required in all environments.

Any specific reason for upgrading to Pega 7.1.7 ? as the latest being 7.1.9
Could you also eloborate the usecase, why you are going for a migration approach rather than the normal way of performing pega recommended split-schema upgrade?
