VBD won't launch in 7.19 exercise system
I'm getting the following error when trying to launch VBD in the latest 7.19 exercise system:
ClassNotFoundException com.oculus.chordiant.planner.applet.PlannerApplet
I'm using IE 11, current Java.
I've already added my Box servers ip address to the Java Exception Safe List, as well as prpc:8080, per previous comments from last year.

Deb,
Thanks a lot for your post.
The "ClassNotFoundException" happens when your Java JRE browser plugin is not up to date, because the applet uses a Java class that is not available in older versions of Java.

So which exact JRE version is working? I am on a Mac, Yosemite 10.10.5.
Thanks

Ok, got it running:
- On Mac OS X 10.10.05 (Yosemit)
- Updated to Java 8 Update 77
- Added the guest VM's IP address to the Escurity exception list in the Java console
- Restared Safari
- Clicked on "Visual Business Director in "Launch Visual Business Director to analyze the results of this simulation."
- That opened a popup
- I resized the popup and that shoed me an error message telling me that the applet want's to access "http://prpc.local:8080"
- So I added http://prpc.local:8080 also to the Exception Site List
- I think I restarted Safari
- That did the trick.

I am facing a problem with VBD on 'marketing_713ml9_pvs_20151201' exercise system which I am using for DSME 7.1.9 course.
I am on Windows 7 64-Bit and using IE 11. Java Version of browser is 'Java Plug-in Proprietary information hidden Using JRE version 1.8.0_91-b14 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM'
All of the recommended network settings are in place in Virtual Box. I still can not access the system using http://prpc.local:8080. It only works with the IP address set in the host only adapter.
Now when I try to launch VBD, I get a 'java.net.UnknownHostException: prpc.local'. Below is a snippet of the Java Console
basic: Added progress listener: sun.plugin.util.ProgressMonitorAdapter@1094290
security: Expected Main URL: http://prpc.local:8080/vbd/vbd-applet.jar
basic: Plugin2ClassLoader.addURL parent called for http://prpc.local:8080/vbd/vbd-applet.jar
network: Cache entry not found [url: http://prpc.local:8080/vbd/vbd-applet.jar, version: null]
network: Connecting http://prpc.local:8080/vbd/vbd-applet.jar with proxy=DIRECT

Akash,
If you can not reach the prpc.local, few things you can try:
1. Did you install the Bonjour Service as described in the VM Quick Start Guide ? If not please do.
2. If you did, can you log in to the VM console, using architect/password credentials? Wait 1,2 minutes and then try to reach prpc.local again.
3. If this does not work, can you ensure the network preferences are configured as described in the VM Quick Start Guide?
Please let us know how you progress,
Miki

Miki,
Thank You for your help.
1. I had the Bonjour Printer Service installed from 'https://support.apple.com/kb/DL999?locale=en_US'.
2. I logged in the Ubuntu console and tried accessing the system after a few minutes. Still could not access using prpc.local. Using the IP address works fine. I can launch VBD by putting the IP address instead of 'prpc.local' for VBD on the Decisioning Services LP.
3. The recommended network settings are in place.
The same settings work fine for the 'Marketing_712_VM_20160223.zip' environment used for the PDMA course.
