We have planned to migrate our application from 6.3 to Pega 7.1.x and with that aspect we also looking at some of the features where we can get benefit. Currently we have multi node in our production with one node dedicated for search and other batch tasks. We are using Pega OOB search configured in this node and when this node shuts down, our entire search fails. We also have almost 13 lakh record / yr.

When we migrate to 7.1.7 we are seeing a possibility of multi node configurations but if at all we configured we are not sure whether that would impact the users logged into the node. Is that a good approach or is there a better mechanism implemented across other pega applications.
