Revision to the Scrum Guide - hot off the presses
Jeff Sutherland and Ken Schwaber, co-founders of Scrum, have just released an update to the Scrum Guide. As Scrum itself reflects the iterative and incremental delivery of agility, Sutherland and Schwaber continue to improve upon the core reference for Scrum. The latest version:
- Is clearer in the use of Scrum beyond software development;
- Provides clarity on the Scrum Master role;
- Refines the Daily Scrum (a.k.a. Stand Up);
- Redefines the concept of a time-box as the maximum length of time for Scrum events (in other words: Daily Scrum doesn't have to be exactly 15 min)
- Highlights the importance of including Continuous Improvement items in the Sprint Backlog
Last year's updates included a focus on the Scrum Values of Commitment, Courage, Focus, Openness and Respect.
