Query on LSA (7.1) Quiz - Managing High Available Applications - In Place Upgrade
Which of the following statements is true regarding in place upgrades in PRPC? (Choose One)
1. Using DASS(Data-Admin-System-Settings) to set configuration values help in upgrading PRPC seamlessly
2. Split schema architecture helps in implementing the in place upgrade (Correct Answer)
3. All users should logoff their session and save their work for doing the in place upgrade
4. Quiesce all servers together to perform a rolling start
In the above question, can somebody elaborate on the 2nd option? Also, I am having trouble finding anything about "In Place Upgrade" in the course. Thanks in advance.

when we upgrade from lower version to higher we can go with different approaches like 1. In-place 2. out-of-place 3. Migration Upgrade

Just to give you a simplified concept.
Both in-place and out-of-place can be done with the Installation and Upgrade Assistant (IUA) UI. The in-place is to make changes to a copy of the existing rules schema (i.e leave the original one in tact). You would then to do regression test against the new rules schema. If all good, you can then move over to this new rules schema, otherwise stick to the original rules schema.
The out-of-place is really a clean installation which you will then install all the certs, etc, etc, then migrate Application RS and data over. Lots of works and risks of missing configurations.
