Exercise: Running an Event Triggered Program - marketing program not invoked

When I did this exercise my soapui call seemed to work but the marketing program wasn't invoked - no new Interaction History and no offers in the run summary (and no email received). I checked through the exercise guide and all my config seemed to be ok. One thing I did notice was that there were no propositions for Business Issues=Sales, Group=FlexiPlans (in fact there is no FlexiPlans group). The import of the setup jar seemed to go ok though.

Did anybody else have this problem?

Hi Rob Thank you for your query. We have identified an issue with this exercise: The Offers do not appear under the Issue/Group after the JAR import. Workaround: Please restart the VM (exercise system) after importing the JAR. Apologies for the inconvenience. Regards Guru

Hi Guru,

I restarted my VM and now I have the offers.

However my marketing program is still not being triggered. I've checked and double-checked everything against the exercise guide but I didn't spot anything wrong. Perhaps I can screen-share in today's mentoring session?

(whatever we discover I will post back to this forum)

Rob As we discovered during the screen-share, the RTStrategy was looking for EventType in the Event Payload, but the EventType property was not set in the soapUI while triggering the Event. You mentioned that the first exercise (with no check for EventType in the Strategy) didn't work earlier. Please give it a try now and post your findings. Regards Guru
