drop down list contains no items
I am untlizing Safari on a Mac doing "Exercise: Use the Case Manager to Process a Case"
The drop down list called "Position Applied For" is a mandatory field that is not populated in my environment.

I noted your observation that the "Position Applied For" field is mandatory and is not populating. :-)
However, if you require help in finding out why it doesn't get populated, it may be helpful if you can provide more information as to how you configured it, what properties did you associate it with and what data source you have configured for the Dropdown control. It is even better if you can post a screenshot!
The above will go a long way into helping you get your desired answer quicker.
