We are evaluating the composition of the infrastructure necessary for our client, to be able to support the use of Agile Studio, Deployment Manager and also the application that is being generated for the project. Right now we are considering the use of Agile Studio, in the development environment, in the same instance of the application we are developing. To set up the Pega Deployment Manager, we are taking into account Pega's recommendation to have a unique instance for Orchestrator. We would like support to clarify, if we can make a decision, where the Agile Studio installation can be on the same instance of the Orchestrator to be used for Pega Deployment Manager, if there is any limitation, if the Orchestrator should be isolated and not no additional Pega apps.

@GuiValino1984 Generally there should not be any issues in having Agile Studio and Pega Deployment manager in same instance, but it is not a best practice. Also, Pega cloud usually provisions a separate environment for Deployment manager.

@MarissaRogers , Couple of questions on Agile Studio:
1. When new version of Agile Studio with latest UI will be released?
2. What features of Agile studio give better experience to users if they use it as a project management tool?

Hi Krati,
Thanks for the question.

Hi Krati,
Thanks for the question.
1. Our plan is launch a new UI for Agile Studio with an upgraded feature set with 8.9 release for now.
2. Regarding the features, hope the below helps.
- There is Pulse communication available on all cases.
- Audit trail is captured in AS.
- Integration with Designer Studio via Agile Workbench and the end-to-end traceability that comes with that. The Rule and code updates tabs on the cases track the rule changes made against a user story or bug, which can be associated during a rule check in.
- Report browser made available for users to create reports as per their need.
- Spaces provide a place for ad-hoc or topic-based collaboration.
- Document functionality allows you to create and associate documents, whether standard rich text or uploaded file, to a space or work item in the application.
- Bulk processing of cases is supported.
- Tag cases and then view and search for them using the tags.
- Personalized Dashboard with some pre-configured widgets that a user can configure as per his requirement.
- Clone feature is available to create a copy of a user story, epic or bug.
- Cases can be followed and can be viewed under My followed cases on left nav menu. Notifications are also sent when a followed case is updated or a pulse is added to it.
- The cases in AS follow a standard stage based lifecycle.
- Share the work items through an easy ""Copy shareable link"" option using ""Actions"" menu.

- I would like to better understand the competing tools many customers use instead of agile studio and our POV on the pros/cons of using agile studio exclusively / in a hybrid model (with other tools) / or otherwise
- I would like to better understand the importance / significance of keeping Agile Studio versions current and how agile studio / devOps updates or upgrades differ from normal platform or app updates/upgrades
- “” best practices for partner adoption of agile studio and general perspective on the mix of Pega clients who primarily use Agile Studio as compared to alternatives

Hi Ross,
Please find my responses to the questions posted:
1. Many customers use JIRA and Rally as their project management tool. We do have some customers who use Agile Studio. I have listed down a set of features, specific to Agile Studio, (in the previous reply) that can be referred to understand how Agile Studio can help with the management of Pega applications. I have not heard of Agile Studio being used in hybrid model (with other tools). Pega does have the Agile Workbench feature that allows Pega applications to integrate with JIRA and Rally (in addition to Agile Studio) for real time tracking of work.
2. Following every Pega major release, Agile Studio has a major release delivered. Pega cloud teams handle all the upgrades for Agile Studio on Cloud. Both Platform and Agile Studio applications are upgraded to latest version. For a smooth upgrade, we suggest not to have too many application overrides. New changes published by the AS team might not reflect, or application may not behave as designed. Note - We plan a major release with 8.9, with new UI and new feature implementations, where overrides might cause problems with the final upgrade.

3. For partner adoption, you could share the Overview ppt with the customer and have them check the Demo video - these are available at External customer folder. Please request for access to view these files. Also share the User Guide . Additionally ask them to send their queries, and you could reach out to Agile Studio Leadership team with these questions.
There is no specific category of our users who use Agile Studio. We have seen some banks, some manufacturing domain company users etc. use Agile Studio. Agile Studio is project management toll that leverage the Scrum approach.
Good day!

Do I need to install Agile Studio in UAT and Production environments? Can I submit feedback in UAT or Production environment? Will feedback from multiple environments sync back to Development system?
Most colleagues I know have only used Agile Studio with their Dev environments but the product documentation seems to indicate that use in upper environments is possible.
Thank you!

Hi Casey,
I think you are referring to Agile Workbench (integrated with Agile Studio). Please correct me if I am wrong.
You could have your Agile Workbench (in any of your systems - Dev system or UAT system) integrated to your Production Agile Studio instance. Then if you create/update a story/bug in Agile Workbench, automatically the story/bugs are created and updated in the PROD Agile Studio. Feedback are maintained local to Agile Workbench and if triaged to a story/bug are then taken to Agile Studio.
Please check https://www.pega.com/products/platform/agile-workbench and https://academy.pega.com/topic/agile-workbench for Agile Workbench related additional details.
Good day!
