CodeCacheSize
Hi,
We have increased CodeCacheSize for the JIT compiler and now we set it to 512MB, but still it does not seem to be enough. We are again trying to increase it in production system but is there any way of calculating an appropriate size for specific application? For example, permanent size (meta space size) is related to the number of classes that PRPC generates. What is CodeCacheSize dependent on, and how can we get an appropriate size? Any standard practice in general?

I do not believe there is a magic formula for the codecache size as it really depends on the applications and many factors. The feasible option is to monitor your system (as you have been doing) and adjust accordingly (not waiting for the error occurs), see this Oracle link for some pointers: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/embedded/develop-apps-platforms/codecache.htm

Hi,
Which exactly are you referring to in this Help? I can't find any reference to how to estimate CodeCache size on Help, and I am talking about specifically -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=___m by Code Cache.
The only article I could find was https://pdn.pega.com/support-articles/high-jvm-codecache-utilization-reported-production-and-uat and it is not really how to estimate, but it just talks about how to increase it.

Hello ,
To add some pointer you can estimate the codecache by connecting the appserver to jconsole
OR
You can get information on codecache usage by specifying –XX:+PrintCodeCache option.

Like I said, we know how much is currently used.. My question was if there is any estimation method or standard practice. Your answer sounds like "No, there is no such calculation and just add it if system throws error.
