both Activity and Data Transform are used to handle data, but they work differently. A Data Transform is mainly used to map, copy, or set values between properties. It's simpler, easier to read, and usually preferred when you're just preparing data or moving values around. An Activity is more powerful and gives you step-by-step control you can loop, branch, call other rules, or even run custom Java code. However, Activities are harder to maintain and more prone to errors if not used carefully. That’s why Pega recommends using Data Transforms for simple logic and using Activities only when you really need complex processing or system integration.
