Starting June 30th, 2024, due to security requirements, Pega Mobile Build Service will stop building versions of the Pega Legacy Mobile Client, also known as Pega Mobile Client 7.
Affected versions
Pega 7 Platform and Pega Platform 8.5 or earlier.
Impact
If you are using Pega Platform 8.6 or later and you are using Pega Mobile Client with standard settings, for example, the official Channel, this event does not affect you. No action is needed.
If you are using Pega Platform 8.0 to 8.5 and forcing Pega Legacy Mobile Client to build through a Channel, you will see the following error message or find the message in logs after the attempted build:
Version reached End of Life, please upgrade to currently supported version
If you are using Pega Platform 8.5 or later and forcing Pega Legacy Mobile Client to build through the Other Channel, you will see the following error message or find the message in logs after the attempted build:
Mobile Client 7 cannot be used with Pega Platform 8.5 and newer
If you are using Pega 7 Platform and in application settings on the Mobile tab you have set iOS settings or Android settings to any release version, you will see following error message or find the message in logs after the attempted build:
Version reached End of Life, please upgrade to currently supported version
Suggested approach
To prevent or recover from the error message, do the following:
Pega Infinity:
In Mobile Configuration, on the Advanced tab, use either the Official Channel or the Beta Channel. Although not recommended, the Other Channel is still functional. You can enforce building specific versions if you select a supported version. Pega Mobile Client 8.7 or later is supported.
For Pega 7 Platform:
Migrate to a supported version of Pega Platform, for example, Pega Platform 23.
After June 30th, 2024, affected applications that have been built and are installed on mobile devices will continue to function, but you will no longer be able to rebuild them using the Mobile Build Service.
You can choose to establish the necessary environment and locally rebuild these applications. However, this may be challenging due to the need to utilize outdated and insecure tools and libraries.
