Question #1. I have always requested questionnaire for hardware sizing to Pega people that I know of, but is there any place (i.e. web site) that we can download the latest one without involving Pega people?
Question #2. I believe hardware sizing estimate is for production environment. Is that correct? If so, for development environment, is there any metrics to determine resources? For example, up to X developers, use 8GB RAM, and up to Y developers, use 16GB RAM, etc.
Request the PRPC Hardware Resource Sizing Estimate Service with you pega account executive, enagement leader. It requires thorough analysis of business uses cases. There You can also send a request to [email protected] /[email protected]for the current PRPC Hardware Resource Sizing Estimate Questionnaire.Seems to be there is no direct link to download the hardware sizing sheet.
Okay, so always e-mail to check out if there is any latest one. That sounds like a pretty big overhead for hardware sizing team to just send a file back and forth but I understand. Can anyone answer my question #2?
Response to your question#2 is PRPC Hardware Sizing Resource Estimate service is a “living” model driven process for future production solution applications focused on the peak loads. The goal of the PRPC Hardware Sizing Resource Estimate service is to provide a starting point for the production solution application hardware resource planning. There is no specific metrics for development environments.
I understand there is no specific formula for sizing development environment, but no one would go for 8GB for 100 developers. You may survive with 8GB for 3 developers. So there should be some rule of thumb to rough estimate hardware sizing (at least RAM) for Dev. Do you agree?
