Where can I use request.getRemoteAddr() ?

Hello, 

Actually, I want to recover the IP adress of the user once he logs in.

I ve tried to configure DDS but it's not working.

Now i want to know where can I use/ call  request.getRemoteAddr()?

I m working with Pega7.2.2
