Where and how to use REST API to invoke automation(solution/case) that run on a VM in OPENSPAN
We're implementing RPA at our end, I'm in process of developing a POC where I would need to trigger the execution of the automation on a VM via an REST API. Till now I have configured Package Server and awaiting response from support team to install RunTime Enterprise Media setup (openspanruntimeentsetup.exe) on our machine, I can successfully deploy some sample packages from studio to Robot Manager. Please elaborate the pros & cons of using REST API services to invoke automations and also kindly provide steps how to make this work.

An RPA implementation using Robot Manager would work like this. You would call the Pega API to create a case. You would use Case Management to route that case to a Workbasket of type Robotic. Your robotic solution would run on a VM and register with Robot Manager to perform activities in the Workgroup that the Workbasket belongs to. When the case arrives in the Workbasket, Robot Manager would pass that case to an available robot to perform the activities required.
