When Condition on Action not working as expected
We have a autocomplete control sourced from a data page & a search icon/button to open the corresponding assignment for the entered value. On the open assignment action we have a when condition to check if the assignment key is null or not, if the key is null the action should not be performed.
Sometimes the when condition is always false and cases with valid assignments are not opening & at times the condition is always true.

Can you please let us know the version of the Pega used.
Also please share the design configuration screen shot showing the actions tab of the autocomplete and the button and also the when rules.

I think you need to change the OnChange action from post value to refresh section (which has the action button). When conditions are launched on screen (section) load, so if you change the text field, the action generated on load is still the same. Please try with section refresh.
