WhatsUp and new monitoring capabilities in 7.1.9

We would like to use the new monitoring capabilities built in to 7.1.9. Pega IT configures our monitoring and they used the new URL http://<<hostName:port/contextName>>/PRRestService/monitor/pingservice/ping in a browser and saw the response:  { "duration":"0.309" }

The problem is that they use WhatsUp to constantly monitor systems. When this URL was used with that they saw the same result but WhatsUp still reported the system as being down.  What else is required to use this technique with WhatsUp?

Thanks for the reply Kevin. WhatsUp began working yesterday and I asked IT what they did. The response was:

"WhatsUp was reporting the nodes were down under the Devices window but Up on other sections of the application.

So given the discrepancy I asked the DCOps - who manages the application - to restart the WhatsUp application.

After that it was reporting correctly the nodes were up."
