What is the use of Service Type (Data-Admin-ServiceType) rules
I was looking at the DSM operations guide and found that service types are created for DNode and VBD.
What is a Service Type and what if i delete the data instance

As per the help, we are not supposed to alter/delete these instances. I would try to pull someone from DSM team to provide better help on this.

Why do you want to delete the DSM service types? Are you facing any problems with those?
All of the services in DSM 7.2.1 require that the D-Node infrastructure is configured on the services LP. Each of these services has a purpose based on the required functionality and implementation.

The DSM 7.2.1 Operations guide mentions the Service types which are not necessarily Rule-Service-%%%% instances.
The Service Types referred are the Decisining specific services ( like ADM or VBD) which can be used as per the business use case.
