What happens if the organization layer inherits from Data-?

Hi,

I am trying to completely grasp the concept of ECS: https://community.pega.com/sites/default/files/images/PRPC/articles/26472/26472_reuse_structure_62.png

Why the organization layer needs to inherit from Work-Cover or Work-? What if it inherits from @baseclass or Data-?

In my opinion, inheriting from Work- gives the capability of reusing the organization wide basic work like creating a log entry when a user enters which is not specific to any framework that is used across the application. While inheriting from Data- or @baseclass is not wrong but it doesn't give the capability of creating organization wide common work items. Am i thinking correctly?

Hello

your thought process is correct . Basically organization classes contain enterprise-wide data assets and assets that must be reused for business logic. And for data we have class like Org-Data
