Using Outlook with robotic automation - adapter with Outlook client

Hi, we are building automations which utilize the Outlook adapter and had some questions about how the adapter works.

1. Does the methods utilized by the Outlook adapter require the installation of Outlook client or is it interacting with some sort of underlying Office code?

2. We are considering the possibility of using service email accounts to run the automations. What issues may we face if we use these instead of typical user-based email accounts?

  1. When using he Outlook Connector, you will need Outlook installed. It interacts with Outlook using interop (code), however many of the actions are visible in the application.
  2. The only challenge I have faced with a generic account is the possibility of multiple "bots" responding to the same message. If you are not using the arrival of emails as a trigger, then you should be fine.
