Using Interaction Manager in Pega - RPA

I am using Pega - RPA (Open Span tool) for automation a particular Use Case. I am trying to use the feature of 'Interaction Manager' for the same.
Scenario:
1. Get a particular field value from a request.
2. Login to another application, use this field value & fetch results from there.
3.. Come back to the source system & populate details based on the results in step 2.
4. Go to the next request in queue. (Repeat from steps 1 to 3 till all the requests are processed).
In the above scenario, can we use interaction manager for passing the detail from source system to target system? However, the system has to wait till the search completes in the source system & then populate details based on the result & then go to process the next request.
So, there is a slight sequential way that needs to be followed to achieve this. In this case, is it advisable to use Interaction Manager for passing the details? If so, what all should we ensure for it?
