what is the exact use of interaction manager?

Hi All,

 

1. Can you please explain what is the exact usage of Interaction Manager

2.  when it can be used?

3.  we have Project to project reference option to communicate and share data btw projects, then why Interaction xml?

4. And can we use interaction.xml file as main configuration file for the solution? (and deploy it based on interaction.xml)
