Use DevOps environment as Development environment/QA environment
Hello all,
All of our environments run on pega cloud. We have 3 + 1 environment. (Dev, Stage, Prod + DevOps).
Since, we do not have a dedicated QA environment, the plan is to use DevOps environment for QA purpose. I looked at the environment and it looks very similar to any pega environement. Are there any configuration level changes that needed to be done before importing the rap files from dev?
p.s: The import doesn't seem to work. I tried importing rap that has about 1800 rules. Import was succesful with only one rule being imported. Nothing helpful in the logs

Hi,
Can you enable these loggers and see the error in logs?
com.pega.pegarules.deploy.external.util.ImportUtility
com.pega.pegarules.deploy.internal.util.ImportImpl
com.pega.pegarules.deploy.internal.inventory.SynchronizerImpl
Set the logging level to ALL.
You should be able to find out the error.

The orchestrator environment is a fairly standard Pega environment, however this is an environment that could get updated or upgraded periodically without warning. Also there is a chance that your testing efforts might impact the functionality of the orchestrator and if you end up with a corrupted orchestrator you will likely need to re-provision it. As long you are aware of the risk you can try it out, although it would not be our recommendation.

Adding to Linoy's reply, even from an infra perspective the devops environment was built with different configuration/s all together. Definitely not recommended to use it for other purposes.
