Upgrade from JBOSS 6.4 JBOSS 7
Hi,
We wants to upgrade our application server from ver 6.4 to Jboss 7. But currently we are using PEGA 7.2.2 which is not compatible with JBOSS 7. So kindly provide me some insights as JBOSS 7 will support PEGA ver 7.3.1 onwards but not 7.2.2.

Really wonderful help from your end regarding this issue. Just help me out with some questions :
1. What are the risks involved if we plan to have an upgrade from Pega 7.2.2 to Pega 8.1?
2.Best practices/ steps involved to upgrade Jboss6.4 to Jboss7?

For first question there is no risk involved, if you follow the Pega upgrade guide (https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/products/platform?platform_server=27551&platform_database=27576 or https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/documents/pega-platform-81-upgrade-guide-jboss-redhat-eap-and-ibm-db2-linux-unix-and). If you moving from 7.2.2 to 8.1, you will get the latest version and with every Pega release, we assure better quality platform.
For the second query, once you upgrade Jboss version you would need to reach out to JBOSS team to understand the feature changes. These changes would need to be checked against Pega setting, you would have set to maintain or improve performance.
eg. From what I know JBoss 7 use activemq while in JBoss 6.x used hornetq in connection factory. So these type of setting you would need to get it reviewed from your server team.

Just a little justification about second point, Do we have any guidelines for implementing Jboss upgrade. Like you gave example of using activemq.
Similarly If PEGA could provide those details in the process of upgrading JBoss then it would be helpful.

I don't think we have any such guide, as these setting would depend on what your server team see fit for supporting application and based on load testing.
If few changes are done from Jboss side based on version, then before implementing them, you would need to understand the impact on application.
So for this again through testing would be needed.

I think you have checked our support guide. Since we support JBOSS 6.x version with PEGA latest verion (Pega 8), you can continue to use 6.x version.
If you are looking for Pega to provide some kind of enhancement for Pega 7.2.2 version to support JBOSS 7.x then as far as I know it won't be possible.
Are you looking for some specific query here? If so please elaborate so we can get back to you on those.
