We are currently using pega V8.0.2017 SP1 for our project. As a part of this project, we have interrogated a web application using web adapters. However we are facing a strange issue. We are not able to interrogate the web controls in production environment however we can interrogate the same controls in DEV and QA environment.
After digging bit in this, we found that internet explorer is treated as windows application when we are launching the website in production. So we can interrogate the address bar, back and forward buttons etc.
Please share why this is happening like this? Is there any setting required for internet explorer to work properly.
This has become the show stopper so any quick help in this would be really appreciated.

Are there any recent OS changes on the PROD server? Or any changes like OS patch upgrade or Antivirus changes? Is it working earlier on PROD environment? Can you share the pictures of the error messages shown on the screen while interrogating web components and verbose version of Studio.log files will be helpful.

The symptoms suggest that Pega Robotics isn't able to identify a valid entry point for hooking into the mshtml DLL. In the newer versions of Pega Robotics, there have been fixes to include better heuristics for hooking into the mshtml (which is the module that manages everything on the webpage).
I recommend testing with the latest version - or at the very least, install the latest Pega Native Foundation (which has all these code changes) and test again.
