Trouble re-indexing (Pega Docker build)

I've build an application server based on the OOTB image from Docker Hub (https://hub.docker.com/r/pegasystems/pega with tag '8.3'). The application server boots up without any problems and I can login. However, re-indexing the default search indexes fails. Or better yet, the won't even start re-indexing (no rule counter, no file size, etc). The Search Index Host Node is online with the default path '/search_index'. I've tried changing the indexpath by altering the DSS, but without luck.

Any ideas why the re-indexing isn't working? Hitting 'Cancel' and 'Re-index' won't help.

You will need to run another container: https://hub.docker.com/r/pegasystems/search for search. The recommended way to actually deploy a fully functional pega cluster is to use Kubernetes cluster: see this link: https://github.com/pegasystems/pega-helm-charts. Once you setup a local kubernetes cluster, either use minikube or docker-desktop (with enough resources in terms RAM/CPU), using helm is just one command away: https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/articles/deploying-pega-platform-using-kubernetes. This will be a lot easier than manually running docker containers and try to link them together - Kubernetes brings all of those (including networking, scaling, and much more) for free.

Is running this search container mandatory? And if so, how do I connect it with the application server?
