Is token detail necessary to be added in Pipeline
Dears,
While setting up Jenkins Server to PEGA pipeline, we have a text box which asks for token in pipeline.
Is token really necessary to connect to Jenkins?
Jenkins Team says we never generate token for user specific requirement to allow login. Please suggest, as we are getting connection failure while executing the build.

Hello,
I assume that you are referring to configuring the Jenkins Server when you have a Jenkins task in your pipeline: https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/installing-upgrading-and-configuring-deployment-manager-44x#Jenkins
The token is a mandatory field when you are configuring the Jenkins task in the pipeline (See attached Screen Shot 2019-06-26 at 12.48.34(1).png for reference).
You specify the token as well when you are configuring the Jenkins server (see step 8 of the provided link - You'll be in the "Build triggers" tab, check the "trigger builds remotely" checkbox and provide a Token).
You may not need it to configure the server, but then you are not going to be able to trigger builds remotely from the Jenkins pipeline task, which is the whole point.
