TN3270 Emulator Numeric SessionID
Hi All,
We are trying to work with TN3270 emulator, the problem we are facing is on the generic winhllapi we are unable to set the appropriate sessionID because in Pega robotics the session ID combobox is having only the Alphabets(i.e A,B,..Z) but the terminal we are using is having the Numeric SessionID(i.e 1,2,..99). How to handle this.

We suggested the customer to use Attachmate Emulator, and the Generic Text Adapter worked well.

HLLAPI uses A-Z as the short session name. I am not sure what the "1" is for in your screenshot except maybe the window title. Would you please you take a screenshot of the API settings and what the short session name is? The version of the emulator you are using may not support HLLAPI and might not have that setting. If that is the case, you'd need a new emulator.

We are doing a POC for a client, unfortunately we are not having the access to the emulator now, we will get the access tomorrow.

The number is just the session number and not the short session name. When you get access, look for that term in the settings, probably under something like "API" and see if you can set it to A-Z.

could you please let us know if you worked with this emulator, where i can find tose details of API session details please, i am not aware about how can we check this.

I have not worked with this emulator (at least I don't remember anyway). If it supports HLLAPI and you provide the text adapter the correct short session name and the correct HLLAPI dll, then it should connect in my experience. I can't really provide you instructions on the specific emulator though as that information should come from that vendor. I would ask your TN3270 vendor where and how to set the HLLAPI short session name.
