By Default all the work object assignments which are assigned to the current user will be shown in Dashboard.
In your scenario deleting work object by clicking on button means to whom the work object has to be route ?
or do you have any specific business requirement ?

thanks for your reply. I don't have any specific requirement, but while practicing I came up with this question.
work objects need not be routed to any other wbs, but not only wo's but in general if want to delete any item on click of the button, any OOTB activity is available or how can I achieve this ?

You can resolve the case. There are few OOTB activity to resolve a case. Please check the Pega Business APIs for that. There should be an activity with name similar to pxForceCloseCase(might not be exact).
